This is a painting I sold last year for some badly needed cash. It's acrylic, gouache, ink, and collage on a wood panel measuring 2'x4'. Attached to the surface is a real grasshopper, that my cat caught, adhered with acrylic gloss medium. During the construction of the painting I took a sledge hammer to the face of the figure, cracking the wood. I feel like this added to the distressed emotional state of the piece.
